Dr. Gisel Suarez Bonilla

Licensed Psychologist

I help individuals navigate personal distress and relationship concerns that may arise during life transitions and changes. My goal is for clients to feel they have the skills and abilities to live the life they want while managing stressful events as they arise. I specifically have experience with:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Trauma and traumatic experiences

  • Academic and occupational concerns

  • Relationship difficulties and identity concerns

  • Life changes

My Approach to Therapy

At different points in life, individuals may feel stressed, overwhelmed, and unsure about what to do next. I create a supportive, culturally appropriate space in therapy that meets clients where they are developmentally and in their processing of current distress. My work focuses on helping you better understand your life experiences, identify your strengths, and learn what you need to feel confident as you work toward your goals. I integrate various approaches that are tailored to your goals, including:

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Interpersonal Therapy

  • Emotion-focused Therapy

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Compassionate and Strength-Based Approaches
